V*ginas are fragile, and their state can be easily altered by a number of factors, both physical and mental. One of these factors is stress

Your p*ssy is a princess.

Stress can cause our blood sugar levels to rise, causing our bodies to  pump more sugar into the bloodstream, and into blood vessels in the v*gina. This weakens our immune cells, making it easier to catch vaginal infections such as yeast infections, bacterial v*ginosis, and UTI’s.

Stress can worsen your periods.

Increases in cortisol, the stress hormone, can also affect your menstrual cycle, leading to irregular, uncomfortable, or missed periods. This can worsen symptoms of PMS, and lead to painful bloating, stronger stomach cramps, and severe mood swings.

Increased stress = decreased s*x drive.

Multiple studies have associated chronic stress with decreased s*xual desire and satisfaction in women, and shown that high stress levels were associated with lower levels of g*nital arousal.

This is because as cortisol rises, testosterone, which is essential for your l*bido, decreases. Your body also becomes unable to send enough blood to your v*gina, preventing the production of moisture, and increasing the likelihood of dryness and discomfort.

Listen to your p*ssy.

If you’re experiencing any of the above symptoms, it might be time to check-in with yourself about your stress levels.

Too often we don’t validate the issues with our mental health until they lead to issues with our physical health.

Protect your p*ssy - you both deserve to be healthy.
